Conclave turns Vatican politics into a surprisingly gripping power struggle. Ralph Fiennes is excellent as a conflicted cardinal navigating faith, ambition, and backroom deals, while the rest of the cast whispers, schemes, and prays their way through a beautifully shot thriller. The sound design is unreal (seriously, you can hear the tension), and the score makes every decision feel massive. The contrast shown between selfless devotion and self-interested ambition really adds a rich layer of complexity to the story.

…And just because the fucker's got a library card doesn't make him Yoda.

Absolutely harrowing scenes. The themes at play and existential reflection it prompted was crushing. The way Fincher juxtaposes religious symbolism with human interpretations of morality really makes you question where the line is drawn between divine judgment and human justice.

The plot of Se7en unfolds like a dark, mesmerizing painting— you can’t look away, even as it unsettles you. It powerfully displays humanity’s capacity for both grace and darkness, a haunting work that lingers long after it ends.

    Chad YouTubers vs virgin scientists.

I think the goal here was to fit as many film tropes as humanly possible into a few hours… AI crushed it. Don’t mean to throw the AI accusation around but the last two movies I’ve seen in theaters have genuinely felt like someone entered the prompt “make me a script for a movie that fills a box office slot, has an unserious tone, and garners some interest from the casting”.

I liked when Dondas the monkey was counsel to a Roman Emperor. We need more of that in our society
