Atonement 2007
Watching a movie after reading the book is such a different experience yet is still so enjoyable. The fast montages for the first third of the film really did justice to the suspense generated from that part of the story. That piano theme was unique and had an eerie feel to it that I loved. Great movie and shoutout to Ian McEwan for this brilliant story.

Beautiful Boy 2018
I thought Steve Carell had a great performance in this movie and I enjoyed seeing him in a non-comedic film. My favorite part of the movie is hearing Nic’s poem reflecting on addiction after we find out he recovered. The end credits also gave me a new Sampha song to listen to. Side note: this makes me want to live in norcal in a mid century home.
