Been a bit since we did one together, missed it.
I really do want to like this more but I just can’t be pulled past four star territory. I really did enjoy it and man does it pull on you but it just didn’t get to me like it seemed to others.

This was so dry and predictable that the only scare I had was when I zoned out because I was bored and got awakened by a jump scare. It was more of an action movie than horror.

So much hyperactive energy crammed full of humor and references and extremely intelligent writing and directing. Super enjoyable watch that only makes me feel let down or dragged along when it intends to.
A little too many shoehorned video game references and jump-cuts during action sequences for above a 4/5 as of right now. Will probably even more enjoyable on a future watch.
I’m making a review so I have one but I’m so utterly speechless that I don’t have anything to say my god. It’s just so exquisitely done in such an absolutely gripping way that has held my attention so much longer than any movie I have seen before.
The ending is so much more deserved than any fight scene I have ever seen and puts modern movies to shame with its ability to give gratification through action.
EDIT: I sat and processed this for 5 minutes and stood up but immediately had to sit back down because holy shit I can’t even process it all
