Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 2023
The golden grail of animated film making. Across the spiderverse gives the perfect ammount of fan service mixed into an original story with two great antagonists and a cliff hanger that will have the mind racing. What a film my god. 10/10

Barbie 2023
Was very surprised with how much I enjoyed Barbie. Yes there is plenty of feminism involved and for 99% of the movie it works perfectly. Loses itself for 2 or 3 minutes where Gerwigs attempt to break stereotypes turns into stereotyping the opposite sex a little too much. However, it recovers strong, brings back the important messages for everyone and in the end has a great conclusion. Ryan Gosling carries the movie massively. Margot Robbie is excellent but everytime Gosling is on screen his comedic timing and effect are perfect. Would be very surprised if he wasn't rewarded for it. Overall a really enjoyable watch.

Avatar: The Way of Water 2022
Imagine Avatar but under water and youve got the whole movie. It has all the same story archs, same villain, same ideas, same development. As a whole it follows James Camerons legacy of not having an original idea in his head. Its loud, visually very nice and action packed. But after 14 years of waiting to produce a story so incredibly similar to the first movie is a massive let down

Oppenheimer 2023
Probably the better of the Barbenheimer double. Cillian Murphy is fantastic as are his supporting actors. A consequential character has got a movie worthy of his status. From start to finished it keeps you entertained, rather heavy on politics and if that's not your cup of team I can see why some could find it boring. Undoubtedly it'll clean up when it comes to awards
