  I love a lot of things about this movie. At a more surface level, the attention to detail and respect for Black improvisational music is very admirable. I especially appreciated the choice to cast some of today’s best jazz musicians as musical doubles for the characters. At a deeper level, I think the message they portrayed was a worthwhile one, and this story was a very human way to share it with the audience.
