My very good friend Will Freeman steals the few scenes he’s in and delivers the only humorous moments of an otherwise grim film. The pleasure of seeing him on the big screen where he belongs, in a film like this (one that, had he not been in it, we’d have watched and discussed together simply as fans) added to my overall enjoyment no doubt, but don’t get me wrong, this is probably the best Australian film I’ve seen since The Stranger. Guy Pearce and Cosmo Jarvis deliver.
