This was a book-to-movie adaptation that I honestly didn't see coming! Maybe I should have following the popularity of Bridgerton, but mentally I still keep Cozy Romance-landia and Movie-landia separate.
Stylistically, I was sad that the movie did nothing special or unique - it borrowed notes from Bridgerton & Joe Wright's 2005 adaptation of Pride & Prejudice - both incredibly popular and well-liked, and, I'm sure, something the audience expects and even wanted.
Otherwise, it was incredibly faithful to the book - so much so that I wouldn't blame anyone for sticking to one or the other.

Other than that, I have a lot of feelings. So it was my Dad's Father's Day choice, possibly the 1st movie I've seen in theaters since 2020. I had *not* seen the original, but I don't think it's really necessary to. It's a popcorn flick, and planes go zoom.
