Epic. Every watch I notice something different. This time it’s how incredible Angela basset is in this film omg. “Open your eyes” dear heart I love her so much as Ms Betty Shabazz. The trip to Mecca, the scope of the full story watching the man grow and change and change the world around him. West Indian Archie’s incredible intro and the arc of his character (Malcolm had the number) I ain’t never been to beantown one of the craziest…

A Whole Night 1982
I wish I watched this after waking up at 3 am. So patient and definitely worthwhile but watching it in the afternoon just didn’t do it justice. The layers of atmosphere build almost in real time and the intimacy of the quiet moments can be so tender. Even though it was a little hard for me to keep track of the characters it formed a mosaic that just kinda washed over me without a big need to organize every storyline. Three Colours: Blue 1993
Started watching high life by Claire denis and couldn’t get into it. Threw this on instead and in 5 minutes I knew I was watching something special. Juliette binoche depicts grief in such a human imperfect way and the film is just gorgeous from the first shot. The dude could’ve been hotter tho (RIP)
