  AN AGE ACCURATE COMING OF AGE QUEER STORY? YOUNG HEARTS I LOVE YOU. i laughed, i smiled like a proud mother, i nearly cried; young hearts you have bewitched me. the story of a child struggling to accept their sexuality despite being surrounded with support really resonated with me, and I absolutely adored the way elias’ story was told. this won the best feature award at iris prize— and rightfully so. 

  also, i’m the grandfather’s biggest fan. he’s the loving, supportive family member we all deserve.
