The concept of this was really interesting and I loved the practical effects of the monster but the acting was robotic and the story had odd pacing. Kind of disappointed

We Live in Time 2024
The highs and lows of this movie made me cry so many times. Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh are the only people I wanna see in a rom com for the rest of my life. A lot of the plot beats were a bit predictable but it didn’t take away from the heart of the movie or stop me from sobbing in the movie theater.

Nosferatu 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Absolutely unreal. Eggers never fails to make every shot a painting and his characters are always so unique yet so very human. The subtle nods to German expressionism mixed with his own style was such a great homage to the original Nosferatu. I was locked into the film from start to finish and can’t wait to watch it again.

Ponyo 2008
I want to preface this by saying Ponyo has always had a very dear place in my heart and I think the nostalgia may have me viewing it through rose colored glasses. That being said, this film feels like a love letter to the innocence and simplicity of loving someone above and beyond yourself. Miyazaki crafted a beautiful world for Ponyo and Sosuke to endure, learn , and bond in. There’s few things more enduring than the love of children and viewing the world through Ponyo’s eyes never fails to warm me up and make me a bit weepy.
