You can really tell that some higher structured sens is holding in place the plot and the characters but I had the impression that in any aspect the filmographic means aren’t living up Buzzati’s suspended world. I found many downsides and clumsiness on the screenplay adaptation and the way actors are obliged to interpret it. I found directorship and photography are the real disappointment : within a similar context, they should have held it much better than this to create the sens of suspension that Morricone struggled so much to assure.
