Lost Lands Countdown #14
Never before has Anderson felt more like a director for hire than in this case. Monster Hunter is surprisingly well crafted but just utterly ambitionless.
The CGI is easily on par with movies thrice it's budget. Even though he again uses a desert setting, this time he manages to deliver clean and vibrant visuals. The camera work and editing is also really well readily, finally denouncing jump cuts and shaky cam.

Perhaps the short film is the more adequate medium to be the cinematic representation of nightmares. In my experience, they are not long, slow and agonizing. They are much more like this.
Best Wishes To All uses its brevity to the full extent. Like the main character, you feel like you are moving on rails, unable to stop, rushing towards the inevitable horror. The score, being more noise than music, is always rumbling through your head, preventing you from thinking, from rationalizing the situation.
