I think I should have watched this during Covid. Watching it for the first time now just seems like a strange reminder how the pandemic was. I can not possibly rate this short movie today as it was made for that context. I don’t know if it would have made me laugh and cry sentimentally in lockdown or if well… not.
I know it’s a good movie, because for some reason I had to cry in the end.
I was very positively surprised, by the love for detail in creating this world. The acting and dancing was amazing. How they build these sets astonishing. It still kept this touch of telling a fairytale in a fairytale world.

Great movie. Although the world seems to have changed a lot, the theme is still relevant and the performance touching, even today. Nothing is lost while watching it in black and white. On the contrary I think it fits the character of the movie.
I saw a live version of this movie last week. Amazing experience. They really stayed close to the source material with this one. 👍 would recommend 13/10.
Rewatching this felt more like coming come than pulling up to my parents house, as my tears ricochet on my tablet screen.
I thought it was just going to be another nice little romcom. But nobody told me it is loosely based on much ado about nothing? I had to realize that halfway through the movie myself? The “little” references were fun.

I only finished this so I could rate it. This is the biggest piece of misogynist shit I’ve seen in a while. It was hard watching through this movie and I paused it like 7 times.
This movie is not about a „sexual revolution“, and not even „hookup culture“. It tries to reflect about the sexuality of young people concentrating on spring break. It fails to really distance itself from the rape culture and misogyny it portrays.
