  first time i watched this was with my first boyfriend, who forced me to sit down and watch this on a 24” dorm tv with built-in speakers because he knew i would love it; he was right. i watched it twice more over the years before i finally got to see it on the big screen this week 🥲 
  some of the dialogue/acting didn’t settle with me as well as it used to, esp in the first act. curious to know anyone else’s thoughts on that. would like to dig a little deeper on the next watch 🧐

  I’m planning on spending the summer in Alaska and this film was recommended to me—I’ve heard about it through the years, was vaguely familiar with Chris’s story and knew what I might be in for. Figured I’d give it a shot. 

  I want to preface by saying that I recognize the beauty of this film and why it has captured so many hearts, as would anyone with a thirst for adventure and/or countercultural lifestyle.
