  i don't care how white that was, that was a perfect love story. and wow, finally a role in which jake gyllenhal's usually bragadocious, annoying ass, bitchyness is actually charming and a little bit endearing. Emma Store was great. Kinda hated the costume design, but then again, the movie was so white oh my god

  the voyeurism in this film is quite specific yet getting to meet the likes of Pepper Labeija, Venus Xtravaganza, Octavia St Laurent, Willi Ninja, Dorian Corey, etc, hearing their stories and peeking into what New York was like at the time is truly special. Paris is Burning, to me, is a rocky start to an otherwise beautiful journey researching Ballroom history.
