The film seemed to enter some kind of cinematic flow state right as the Armenians arrived back at the house, starting with the funniest scene I've witnessed all year (the fight scene), and it kept that momentum for pretty much the rest of that movie.
And yet it all remained incredibly relatable and convincing. The only exceptions to this were the scenes where Vanya was playing Xbox. No one plays Xbox like that - he was basically just pressing random…

This is a triumph of Australian storytelling.
Incredible depth, emotional, moving, tension-packed and utterly gripping.
Vincent Miller was phenomenal in this breakthrough performance, and Guy Pearce is quickly becoming one of my favourite actors. But Cosmo Jarvis was an absolute star – he commanded the screen and had the audience hanging on his every word. It's tough to overstate – it was an incredible performance.
The emotional moment at the end hit like a ton of bricks. On one side of the glass, the father he never had; and on the other, the son he never had.
What a film.

Amazing cameos (especially Katt Williams), lots of laughs and two beautiful black queens - what more could you want?
Everyone knows Keke Palmer is great, but SZA was hilarious in her first ever acting role. I think we'll be seeing plenty more of her on the big screen if she wants to make that career move.
The parallels to Friday are obvious, but I have a feeling this will one day be a cult classic in its own right.
