  I watched it mostly to see shots of Portland, and it did not disappoint. You know, I don't think they display this movie posted in PDX airport with all of the other cute shot in Oregon movie posters.

  The drug addict redemption arc is not unfamiliar territory, so that wasn't the compelling part really. It was mostly Matt Dillon being charming in a crop top.

  I'm older than some folks. I watched this when it came out.

  I was 6

  My mom had absolutely no rules for what I watched. I really respect that. To a point.

  I recorded The Fly, and the original version, on TV when I was a kid. My mom thought it was great I was watching both.

  This movie is SO not appropriate for a kid.

  It is also one of the greatest movies I've ever seen.

  The Substance 2024

  The Substance is a reminder that there are other incredibly talented film makers who not only scratch my David Cronenberg itch but actually excel beyond.

  Margaret looked like a silicon Real Doll, but I just looked it up and she was wearing prosthetic breasts so now that makes a lot of sense.

  Everyone in this is fantastic even if they are disturbing and creepy, the last half an hour is perfection
