Ugh yes gothic period pieces are so back! Thank you Robert. Such a beautiful film and really enjoyed how classic some of the shots were, payed homage to the original story so well. Acting was beautiful and intentional I LOVE it. Need to learn how to yearn like him he ate (no pun intended)

Close enough, welcome back Picture of Dorian Gray.
To be super for real though, the writing is amazing. Really stood out throughout the entire movie and it was the main thing holding it together. However, the concept has been beaten to a pulp. The film is avant-garde it’s grueling it’s impactful I GET it. Yet so many new aspects of the experience that were presented weren’t fully explored. Too much emphasis on the gore fest and not enough on the implications. I get it but there has been so many other forms of media where I’ve already had the chance to get it.
