Saw this at the Ontario Place Cinesphere with a Q&A with the producers and director. One of the best days of my life, unforgettable.

The Last Showgirl 2024
A visual delight and a majestic somber score. Pamela delivers a dynamic performance despite the limited script and story. I found the film wasted it's runtime for unnecessary filler scenes where nothing is happening. The film comes off as choking on having had something to say but it chances keeping passing while it spends it's time in fleeting moments and now it feels too late to express it but it's not... Which is near paralell to Pamela's character and how she approaches bridging her inner world to her reality.

Anora 2024
Saw at TIFF'24. Anora has had a lot of buzz coming from other festivals. I saw it solely for that reason considering I was neutral about the director, Sean Baker. The two stars are solely for the performances coming from Mikey and Mark as they have comedic chemistry and I enjoyed their shared scenes. I am not a fan of the characters or the story mainly because I could not watch without the obvious male gaze and writing of the Anora. I did not believe her choices in the situations her character was in. The ending seals the deal.
