don’t know how historically accurate this is, but an overall good thriller movie. def follows the trope that countries in Africa are bad and underdeveloped, but it is interesting how both Koreas were somewhat “underdeveloped” by Western standards, and that the only way they could get UN membership was thru colonization.

i do wish it showed more on the terrors of the genocide outside the hotel, but i know this movie was mainly about the survivors in the hotel. one of the most compelling scenes of this movie was when paul had his breakdown in the changing room when he couldn’t put his tie back on; he tried with all his effort to maintain composure during a violent genocide
