  At the end, when they cut to Miyazaki, his hands bright red from applauding so hard and his eyes misty with tears, standing up to clap, it gets me. Then it cuts back to Joe Hisaishi standing there, also with tears in his eyes, just soaking in the applause as everyone else stands up too… man that gets me x2. 

  Ghibli would not be as great as it is and hold as much emotions as it does without the music of Joe Hisaishi. I feel so immensely fulfilled just by watching this concert on video.

  There’s a lot of memorable scenes in this like the border crossing, the tense creeping towards the tunnel and the last scene between Del Torro and Blunt. When this film soars, it absolutely skyrockets with superb cinematography (never in my life has dusk looked so good but it’s Deakins so what else could you expect) and amazing sounds, music wise and gunshot violence wise.
