When I saw the trailer, I needed to watch it in theaters, so I did!
Very great movie. Robert Pattinson prob gives his best performance ever as Mickey Barnes 17 and 18. a lot of metaphors and symbolism that needs to be dissected for a while but it's pretty damn good. Peak Late 2000's right here. I remember watching the intro of this on my family computer when I was 4 or 5 in 2010-2011. Miss those days of just watching YouTube mindlessly clicking on super sentai videos.
The movie was pretty tight. Although, you do have to watch 50+ episodes of Gekiranger (Jungle Fury in America) and 50+ of Go-onger (RPM) to fully understand it. But it's still really good and funny which I thought it was gonna be cringe but it still holds up. rn I'm watching Gokaiger.
The amount of The Smiths songs being played is nearly on the same level as Elliott Smith songs in Good Will Hunting.
This movie has the same feeling when people were saying Wes Anderson craved into his own style when he made The French Dispatch. It's just your average David Fincher movie. Nothing special besides Micheal Fassgender performance as a yapper and Tilda Swimton one scene which steals the movie for me.
