Watching this movie was like sitting through the season finale for a boring mini-series that I didn’t watch… An impressive story, but did it need to be told on screen? Probably not tbh.

The dialogue in this movie is the kind that makes introspection a requirement instead of a suggestion! During arguments between the main characters, I couldn’t help but feel like they were two sides of the same whole arguing at each other. It reminded me of a thousand conversations I’ve had with myself — “You light up an entire room, and then shit on everything in it,” has been ringing in my head since watching. Eisenberg really captured the equal parts of love and resentment you can have for family members, will probably not watch again because it made me feel a lot of feelings about myself.
