The Substance 2024
After a certain point I had to permanently turn my head away. But from what I did see, I think there’s a great lesson about loving yourself beyond your looks. The cinematography and set design were delightful. Costumes were weird but I understood it. Limited dialogue was an interesting choice, so much gets said without saying it. All in all a pretty good movie but a bit too much gore for me.

Delicious movie. I was worried that it would focus too much on sex but there’s hardly any intimacy. The tennis is the sex. I loved how insular the film is. You get to know no additional characters and get just enough back story to know each character in this point in time.
The time jumps were confusing at first but you figure it out quickly. And it adds to the tennis feeling of the film to move back and forth.…
