Oppenheimer 2023
it was really good and had some really stunning cinematography at times. the score was perfect and there were two moments as a music nerd where the score did something super cool but i don't want to spoil it (thank god nolan didn't hire zimmerman for this). overall there were some good moments where it showed the devastation of the japan bombings but it could have gone so much further, i feel like they were scared to show too much to the audience but it's an R movie with full nudity, it's not meant for kids anyways

it’s a music movie made by someone who clearly doesn’t know anything about music. the obsession with playing as fast as possible is completely nonsensical and as a result all of the drum playing outside of the recorded soundtrack sounds like complete garbage. it’s like a football movie but if the only thing anyone cares about is throwing the ball far, and nothing else about the game matters. it’s a shame because the characters are really interesting but the context they’re placed in scene-to-scene is nonsense
