Paul Mescal doesn’t live up to Russell Crowe but he really works as a junior, and the movie brilliantly splits up the time between a handful of characters. Denzel Washington was giving one of his all time performances here, as did Joseph Quinn, what a good asshole villain to follow up…

The Secret World of Arrietty 2010
I’m iffy on the real world animation but the fantastical aspects were beautiful. I wish the movie was purely from the borrowers perspective, I just didn’t care about the regular people. The voice acting on some of the English translation was a bit weak but it was mostly secondary characters. Also it’s interesting that the villain here is the maid, they really vilify the working class just for kicks lol
