I didn't like this movie; I think it had too many plotlines, which made me feel like I was jumping from one to another. Compared to the book, I find it to be a very weak film despite the great director and excellent cast. I also didn't enjoy the surprising plot twists, as they were actually very predictable.

Escape from Alcatraz 1979
I love films about prison escapes, which is why I really enjoyed this one. It's the first movie with Clint Eastwood I've seen, and it certainly won't be the last. At times, the film feels a bit slow, but it's still watchable despite its age. I was somewhat disappointed that Allen, the one who delivered the books, didn’t escape with them to his daughter. However, I really liked the original way of escaping and the long, yet careful planning behind it. I rate the film 3.5/5.

Personally i think this is the best movie i have ever watched. The cast is awesome, the last scene acting by brad pitt is breathtaking. My parents said that i can't watch this that young and i understand them now, despite the scary scenes, I still think it's the best movie ever made.
