  The whole premise for this movie is sorta weird. Some very cliche 80s type of scenes mixed in throughout. A love story that doesn’t really go anywhere. And a broke drug dealer. 

  It was cool to see people mashing though the streets of North Beach in the 80s and this might be the first movie where I’ve seen the Embarcadero freeway. 

  Probably wouldn’t watch again but another SF based movie in the books.

  Haven’t seen it in probably 8-10 years but I think it’s gotten more clever as it’s aged. Maybe things just flew over my dumb teenage brain when I first watched it in high school when it came out. Could be a combination of both.

  RIP DMX! Man seeing this movie in Theater on 35mm hits different. The colors are beautiful. The compositions were like no other. The use of depth of field was *chef's kiss*.

  People like to hate on this movie cause of the acting. DMX honestly kills it. Nas isn't as bad as people make him out to be.
