  so violent yet so innocent. this film honestly wrecked me, it does not sugar coat anything. it brings up the topic of child sexual abuse and the trauma that comes along with it. the two boys: brian and neil contrast one another exactly, one is proof of trying to remember the trauma, while the other is trying to forget. yet they went through the same trauma.   sofia coppola gets it.

  alsoooo this is such a sofia coppola film, you can see her aesthetic and style through every shot, color scheme, set, piece of dialogue and even the costume design!!! i love it.
