i only wish they had depicted anne’s growth more :( after reading her diary, it’s evident that while in hiding she grew into such a wonderful young woman.

such a lovely movie! great intro to older films, especially if you aren't normally the biggest fan of them. the simplicity, charm, and suspense were built perfectly! hitchcock did an excellent job at building his own little mini world! the side stories that we get from each of the different neighbors only made the film more charismatic.

really interesting portrails of addiction, and a great way to show the many different sides of alcoholism. i did feel a little bit of an emotional block when trying to connect to some characters and their lives, but other than that it was amazing! i can die happy knowing that i got to see mads mikkelsen dance.

i ADORED this movie so much! definitely a current favorite. it started out as a drama between the mom and daughter, only to find they are one in the same. i love a good old “u resent your mother for the traits you both share” sorta thing! the title reads true— girls will be girls!
