  Wow. I am speechless (kind of like dog and robot).

  I'm now reconsidering the landscape of (western) children's cinema, which is sorely lacking compared to that of children's lit, and it has taken me this masterclass in story telling to realize that. Personality and care in the filmmaking exude from the screen. The friendships depicted through montages of shared play, looks, and tactile closeness, exhibit a purity that would likely be complicated by the use of language, which after all is only but poor translation. This contagious warmth is just as easily assumed as it is brutally severed. The ending will forever haunt me. Masterpiece.
