Oh I’m truly horrified that it took me this long to watch this film. I’m inlove!
The visual aesthetic and cinematography is perfect, capturing New York so well. The way all the erotic scenes are shot is so enchanting and artistic, but it doesn’t feel overdone, they leave so much out of shot it’s just perfection. Rourke and Basinger have electric chemistry, their performances feel so natural particularly Rourke. The styling is so gorgeous and natural soft and romantic.
Definitely an all time favourite, I can’t truly articulate how much I loved this film.

The Killer Inside Me 2010
I’m so confused that this film isn’t a cult classic. Visually it’s that romanticised Small town America in all its glory. It feels like such a classic trope that tumblr always grabs onto so I’m just shocked it never got recognition in that regard.
Casey Affleck’s performance is perfection. You get the sense as is true with many real life killers, that he is at the mercy of his murderous desire, and he plays is so naturally. I just loved…Translated from by
