The Disney live action remakes have gotten progressively more creatively bankrupt since Cinderella, which also happens to be the best. This movie is not worth the Rachel Zegler smear campaign. Gal Gadot is as awful as everyone says and while I support Zegler in the midst of this insane news cycle I still don't think she's a very good actress. Nobody appreciates the Waltons / John-Boy references more than me. Thought the daughter was kind of hit or miss. Sometimes I liked her, sometimes I thought she was annoying. Very funny and old school.

This was fine. The story really suffers from a lack of focus. They needed to fully commit to either the fake author plot or the familial drama. By trying to have it both ways, both storylines suffered. The meta ending really didn't work for me, either.
