Fuck offfff bro. Don’t piss me
Off dot comPutting a shitty quote from the movie into quotation marks in your Letterboxd review does NOT make it poetic, meaningful, or beautiful.
I have too many things to say, like how badly this movie does for disabled people, how excruciatingly one dimensional the characters are and how phoney the romance is. And how CORNY YALL ARE BEING
I did laugh out loud at the dramatic cut from that poor girls awkward…

At first I was unsure if I was fully on board with this film. I was left confused by Drew Starkeys character and his intentions. There wasn’t much to cling onto. But then it hit me that it is a shared experience with Daniel Craig’s character, who was absolutely phenomenally portrayed; definitely a career highlight . He plays pathetic, confused and desperate to be loved so immaculately.

I feel like I will fail to put into words how very very important this film is...
Not only is it a landmark for 2d animation, having introduced new colors to the big screen. It also introduced Japan to non children targeted animation, while also confronting Japan's relationship and trauma with atomic warfare.
So absolutely important and amazing to watch. I strongly recommend reading the manga, very different but equally iconic experience.
