Porco Rosso 1992
My absolute favorite Studio Ghibli film. I think it's always been underrated - unlike other Ghibli films, it's quite understated, more thoughtful, and to be honest, a little more "adult" (as in, it tackles more adult themes). It's also absolutely whimsical in a totally grounded sense; if watching Porco fly doesn't make you discover you always wanted to become a 1930's pilot over the Adriatic, I don't know what will.

Third on my four-movie marathon on a 7-hour plane.
Holy shit. This film fucking rocked. It was two hours of absolute mayhem, and yet, I was absolutely engaged the whole time. That's odd, because I feel like after a certain amount of time I would lose interest, but you don't. Every scene, there is a new element, an even more interesting thing to watch.
