It's a bloody, nostalgic masterpiece. The vibrant world that Scorcese has created it's so enticing, making you feel the magnetic pull this frivolous life has over these despicable and lovable people. Begin Again 2013
I'll admit I'm not that into romcoms, but it's also true I haven't given the genre the chance it deserves. I wasn't convinced to see this one, but oh boy am I glad that I did.
A lovely film, with some really nice music to make it even better. Keira was charming and hey, it made me dislike Ruffalo a little bit less, so that's a plus too.

A Most Violent Year 2014

Went in expecting some classic mafia drama, but got a nice surprise instead. Takes it's time to start, but it's delightful when it gets there.
Loved the nuanced poetry from the suicide scene, even with all the shock. How the death of this poor guy was a nuisance so small in Abel's ambitious quest, as the leak from the gas tank made from his gunshot, sealed as easily by a simple handkerchief.

Sicario 2015
Holds up pretty well after a re-watch. It's a slow burn, but surely delivers, and the long shots are beautiful, but then again, it's Roger Deakins we are talking about here. Emily Blunt it's outstanding, but Benicio, even with all his character's stoicism, steals the show here.
