Police are investigating the death of a lady that was murdered in an elevator, her cat being the only witness to her death. Suddenly, other people start dying when they adopt cats 🐈, but you know, they aren’t very nice to them. This is a ghost story that involves the love and protection of cats. As a cat lover myself, I enjoyed this sad little story. However, the film was a little too bright for the dark theme it depicts. But a lot of Korean (asian horror in general sometimes) horror is depicted that way. Animal cruelty and death depicted.

Ah, Alejandro Jodorowsky. A Vaudevillian kaleidoscope of endless parades that somehow manages to convey an evolving childhood trauma to the depths of mental terror.  The story follows Fenix, who in his childhood witnessed the the mangling of his mother and the death of his father and the loss of innocence. Sprinkle that with love lost and the loss of a beloved pet animal, fanaticism, failed divine recognition, Ed Gein and it sets the stage for what’s to come. Theatre makeup, little people, clowns, burlesque, prostitutes, drag queens, glitz, color, lights, camera, action and love found is what it takes for the  exorcism. Highly recommended.

A tale about a novelist who enlists the housemaid services of a local woman named Emerenc Szeredas. As she gets used to the woman’s quirks, she finds out about her life through the stories of others about her and through Emerenc’s own mouth. This is such a gem of a film. A story about a full life, a life well lived and the secrets that emerge as one’s life is coming to an end. About honesty and taken for granted how one’s life is made better through the suffering and strength of will of others. Topics of trauma, animal abuse and death, and class.

Just a story about the people of the island of Inisherin in Ireland, during the ending of their civil war. Padraic  & Colm are lifelong friends, but suddenly Colm decides to end this relationship with almost no explanation. As the film goes along, Colm let’s Padraic know why. What ensues is a funny (but really not so funny), sequence of events as to why they should or should not remain friends, with the townsfolk as witnesses to these events. This…
