  Listen. I probably only saw this once or twice as a kid, probably soon after it came out (I was a bit younger than Harriet) … but images from it are so seared into my mind. Watching it for the first time again, 25 years later, there were so many scenes where I had a flash of premonition - “Now she pours the paint!” - a buried memory that I couldn’t have placed until it was about to happen.   Fearless performance by Jake-Ann Jones! Who also CAST THE MOVIE! Now that’s talent!
  This came together so well, layers of story & theme that felt natural & even inevitable in this cast of warm, real characters. 
  It was such a delight to see it on a big screen, with an audience that was so excited to be there - just a wonderful experience. A room full of love.
