I have recently turned 18 and I see some of my own struggles in Nina.
When we first see her she is in her room, which is still decorated with pinks and butterflies and stuffed animals. A child’s room with a grown up occupant. At first I was delighted because my own childhood room was similar, but as the movie progressed that delight faded and now I look around at my current room feeling confused.

The Florida Project 2017
This is what the Floridians were getting up to in La La Land.
The dialogue felt very natural and real. This is probably the only movie I’ve seen where a kid actually acts like a child and the performances from the child actors were great. The color palette of the movie also reminds me of the 2019-2020 VSCO highly saturated era
