after seeing universal language about 5 months ago and hearing matthew rankin (or someone in the audience?) mention this during the q+a, i added this to my watchlist. i was expecting something really weird, really canadian, and incredibly referential to a lot of other pieces of cinema and art. and on those fronts, this delivered. both movies are ones that i feel i do not know quite enough about canada to fully appreciate, but they are still both great watches.…

danish man has never taken a deep breath once in his life. is rude to customer service workers. complains about people not wearing gloves in the kitchen but never wears them himself. is an amazing artist but after the first 5 minutes it's never mentioned again. the whole thing's actually not a movie but a travel ad.

This might be my new favorite of the festival. Such a striking movie about intimacy. Very gentle. The 3 leads are just so perfect. A masterpiece of visual storytelling, I was realizing that if for some reason it didn’t have subtitles, I probably would have loved it just as much. Beautiful depiction of touch.

The audience was pretty bad, 3 separate couples near me talked throughout. Multiple people were walking in and out the whole time. This truly deserved a more graceful audience.
