i first read the book about 10 years ago in high school and was always so fascinated with the story that i'd read it over and over and over again. wes anderson directing this made perfect sense. every single casting was exactly how i imagined each character to be all those years ago. fantastic film.

i enjoyed it. dare i say, easily up there with man of steel and the 2nd suicide squad movie. oH bUt ThE cGi wAs— ok first off, it wasn't that bad. you dont need great effects to make a great movie. sure it could've been better but it served it's purpose and that's all that matters.

this film left me as intrigued as i was horrified. i am quite the history butt and despite (loosely) knowing what happens, the amount of stress i was put through watching everything unfold is a testament to how brilliant this film was. the morality and ethics of it all. the most extreme case of how far are we truly willing to go? and why is it always at the expense of our fellow man?

after months, i've finally seen this movie!
when i learned that this movie was gonna draw inspiration from films like se7en, i was immediately stoked to see it. as a fan of noir-ish, crime & psychological thrillers and the batman franchise, this movie was a ride; a damn good one.
the film created the perfect gotham by highlighting corruption, filth and most importantly, characters who are morally grey. everyone has motives and in a way, justified. each given sufficient screen time…
