I'm an avid watcher of Guillermo del Toro's work and have been a strong admirer of his for a long time. His latest release, Nightmare Alley, is a very enjoyable film with a star filled cast and a great story. Cate Blanchett is fabulous and I was particularly impressed with Willem Dafoe's performance, (especially with his monologue in the restaurant). Bradley Cooper is fine, neither mind blowing nor disappointing, although I thought his acting improved as the film went on.…

Nicholas Nickleby 2002
As this is by far my favourite Dickens story, and one of my most beloved childhood films, I may be biased in saying that Nicholas Nickleby is a massively underrated small film, with an extremely loveable cast who play very believable characters and stunning sets and costumes.
The relationships and friendships within the story are conveyed in a very natural and humane way which makes it an easy one to relate to emotionally.
