  Had so much potential to be a great foodie film with an emotionally developed protagonist. But it fell flat with bad and obvious writing that made the films' deeper points feel forced and stretched. Tis a shame really 🤷‍♀️ Beautiful montages of the food though!

  As this is by far my favourite Dickens story, and one of my most beloved childhood films, I may be biased in saying that Nicholas Nickleby is a massively underrated small film, with an extremely loveable cast who play very believable characters and stunning sets and costumes.
  The relationships and friendships within the story are conveyed in a very natural and humane way which makes it an easy one to relate to emotionally.
