This is the first pro-Neville Chamberlain film I've ever seen. Astonishing

Okay I watched this high and now it's one of my all time favourite films. The dialogue is incredible, the funny stuff works, the sad stuff kills and the vibes are immaculate. A masterpiece.

Pope politics might seem boring from the outside, but beautiful cinematography, sharp dialogue and two outstanding central performances make it utterly hypnotic.

Jonathan Pryce is excellent as the future Pope Francis, representing the unstoppable force of progress and Anthony Hopkins puts in arguably a career-best performance as a bullish but failing traditionalist (He was robbed of the Best Supporting Actor Oscar).

Not afraid to shy away from the dark moments of both men's lives, The Two Popes is brutally honest, superbly edited and perhaps surprisingly entertaining, even for the non-religious.
