One night after watching Cruising I thought this was a fun love letter.
It stumbles into the same political territory with a 21st century context (which changes the stakes, but trips over the same hurdles). I loved the comedically stupid “generic James franco” as a director, and it catches the tone of the Cruising club scenes well. I’m glad someone loved the popper dancefloor scene enough to remake it…
