Captain America: Brave New World 2025
This is not that bad of a movie, y’all just love to hate! Not everything has to be either the best or the worst. This movie lives in that middle ground. There’s some GREAT performances here and some really fun callbacks. Yes, the mixed political messaging was rough. Yes, Ruth was unnecessary and shouldn’t be brought into another movie. But it was FUN. Harrison Ford and Anthony Mackie were GOOD. The action scenes ATE. So get off your damn high horses and enjoy a movie for once.

Barbie 2023
Every pothole I thought this movie would fall into, it bypassed flawlessly. Margot Robbie was the perfect choice, despite the narrators notes, and Ryan Gosling brought the ken-ergy needed to an otherwise ignorable character. Any doubts I had about him in this role disappeared the moment he walked on screen. Pair all this with a VERY homoerotic “war,” and you have what I think might be the most fun I’ve had seeing a movie in years. This film was incredibly self-aware, and I tip my hat to Mattel for not being afraid to mock themselves. Caught myself tearing up several times, I’m a big fan.
