Anora 2024
Oh guys. I’m not gonna lie I kind of fucking hated this one. Mikey was lovely and there were some nice shots in there but this movie simply did not make me care about anything. Its portrayal of Anora felt so bland and stereotypical, and maybe that’s this films way of trying to say something about the dehumanization of sex workers, but like it doesn’t work. Not when you don’t actually explore Anora and her inner life and her motivations in any way, shape, or form.
