A better sequel than most, although some of the dialogue at the start was less subtle than sledgehammer to the head. Great visuals and a good concept for a sequel that while not necessary for the already complete story of the first, was entertaining and didn’t detract from the original. Though both 1&2 seem to have a melding of CGI and practical effects, the 2nd seems as though it could’ve benefited from more of the latter towards the end

Unironically, I love this film. It’s pure cheesy B-Movie brilliance that knows it’s a cheesy B-Movie.
The film’s very stylised; there’s a notable overuse of dutch angles and lens flare, but visually it’s really nice, so huge props to the cinematographer. The score is solid, too. Saying that, is the script brilliant? No. Does the film play to genre conventions and tropes? Absolutely. But does it do so with awareness? Yes, and it does so entertainingly.
It’s not an amazing film…
