I feel as if most of the people that love this are indeed, Tatsuki Fujimoto fans who are aware of his history. This film (and the one-shot) is loosely biographical, combining the characters' names literally gives you "Fujimoto". It's incredibly how strong this film is as a sequel made 7 years after the last of the trilogy, and with completely new characters nonetheless. The central message of the Planet of the Apes Trilogy is still highly present in Kingdom, with the impossibility of co-existence amongst apes and humans.
