  I put this on with family long before I moved out and we didn't end up finishing it. Rewatched today and now I remember why: All the best gags are used up by the first half of the movie. You get some good bits like the rabbit and the holy hand grenade and the return of the frenchman but the rest is a major yawnfest, total white noise

  It's very palpable and suffocating for a Peanuts flick - like the first few acts has the kids acting weirdly violent and aggressive, without other beats or moods to punctuate it like in the classic era of shorts or the comics source material. And this inverts in the latter actswhen the mood goes mopey and teary-eyed - it's wringing you out for tears for 20 minutes straight like a coach to a sweat towel. Given that the focus of A…
