  Threw on the Criterion Channel 24/7 stream and this started playing in the background initially until I got fully sucked into it by the aesthetics and needle drops. Such a cool look that doesn’t grow tiresome in its brief running time. I especially loved the highlighting work on the moment of them riding the motorbike together and sharing colors. Brilliant!

  Every time I assume I’ve outgrown high school narratives, I catch something like this that offers a fresh perspective that I can still relate to. I didn’t know the youth of the Philippines in the 2000s were into emo/punk rock like I was into it.

  Emilia Pérez. I think I kinda like it, and that’s okay. Obviously, better than Gladiator 2. All the people online comparing it to Green Book are incorrect. Clearly, it’s Mrs. Doubtfire. (As pointed out in Mike D’Angelo’s review. It really recontextualized the film for me.)

  Saw this by myself in an empty theater at Laurelhurst back in October and thought it was overstuffed with clashing elements and lost me in the back half, but was sort of interesting as an eclectic…

  I knew Drew Barrymore was in it, but also a star vehicle for Sara Gilbert and Tom Skerritt? Hugely watchable.
